Our client is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Project Designer to support the design and execution of renewable natural gas (RNG), landfill gas-to-energy, biogas upgrading, and gas processing systems. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Engineers and cross-functional teams to develop detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, equipment layouts, and engineering documentation for custom packaged equipment solutions.
This position is ideal for an experienced SolidWorks professional with a passion for innovative industrial equipment design, process systems, and sustainable energy solutions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Create 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
Design skid-mounted process equipment, piping systems, and mechanical assemblies.
Develop equipment layouts, BOMs, and project drawing packages.
Collaborate with Project Engineers to deliver cost-effective, safe, and reliable designs.
Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
Prepare operating, maintenance, and technical documentation.
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety requirements.
Experience
3-5 years of mechanical design experience in industrial, energy, gas processing, chemical, or related industries.
Strong SolidWorks modeling and drafting experience, including routing.
Experience with packaged equipment, piping systems, or skid-mounted equipment preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
Working knowledge of ASME, AISC, ASTM, OSHA, and related industry standards.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
