Description

  

1. Administer medications as ordered and maintain accurate medication records.

2. Present medications to residents and observe ingestion or application per policy.

3. Monitor residents for medication effects and report adverse reactions.

4. Document reasons medications are not administered.

5. Provide direct care as needed, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.

6. Receive, store, and prepare medications per protocol.

7. Maintain and restock medication inventories.

8. Coordinate care with resident’s primary care provider.

9. Collect specimens and coordinate laboratory services.

10. Provide updates to families and contracted providers.

11. Ensure medication carts are organized and free of expired or discontinued medications.

12. Assist caregivers with personal care as needed.


Requirements

  

1. Ability to read, write, speak, and follow directions in English.

2. Possesses patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly.

3. Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving.

4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

5. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.

6. Must have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

7. Must not be listed on the Adult Protective Services registry or OIG list.

8. Must have a current caregiver certification.

9. Current CPR and First Aid certification.

10. Must be at least 18 years of age per Arizona Administrative Code R9-10.

11. Must meet all drug screening requirements as a condition of employment.

12. Must obtain and maintain Memory Care certification/training.
