Job Description - Medical Assistant


We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as Medical Assistant. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care while also assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations. Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for consultations.
  • Take vital signs and record patient information accurately.
  • Assist in managing patient inquiries and scheduling appointments.

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and reminders.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients and their representatives, managers, providers, other clinic staff, outside agencies, and the public.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in basic medical procedures and terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • CPR certification may be required.

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily an action position requiring walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. At times must lift up to 75 pounds. Potential for long periods of standing. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with the computer and other facility operating systems. Must have auditory acuity to effectively interact with patients and public.

Work Schedule:

Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Schedule is set by the Clinic Manager.
