Medical Assistant - for Provider

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our established Rheumatology practice. The ideal candidate will assist providers in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring efficiency and a positive experience for our patients. They will also be able to work in a team environment with everyone at the practice, as each position and individual plays a pivotal role in our practice. 

This position includes but is not limited to the following job duties:

• Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures as needed
• Prepare patients chart by reviewing previous visit and ensuring any labs and diagnostics that were ordered have been received and attached. 
• Take and record vital signs, medical history, and symptoms
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and disease management
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using [Insert EHR System]
• Handle administrative tasks such as insurance prior authorizations and prescription refills
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience preferred
• Experience in Rheumatology or a similar specialty is a plus
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems; NextGen is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• CPR/BLS certification required
