Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology

• Setting: Outpatient gastroenterology practice


• Schedule: Full-time


• Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. One to two years of experience in a medical setting is preferred, with formal medical assistant training or certification considered a plus. Candidates must be experienced in patient triage and assessment, taking vital signs, assisting with physician examinations and in-office procedures, administering medications as directed, providing patient education, coordinating diagnostic testing and pre-authorizations, and maintaining accurate medical records. Knowledge of HMO insurance plans is required. Familiarity with Athena EMR, CPT coding, and ICD-10 coding is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, computer, and typing skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced specialty care environment.
