Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine - Mission Valley

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant
• Primary care experience

This is a full-time benefited position located at Scripps Clinic Mission Valley, working Monday through Friday from 8\:00 a.m. to 5\:00 p.m., with no evenings or weekends.  This role supports both front office and back office Medical Assistant duties.

What you'll do\: 

• This is a dual role with both clinical and administrative aspects
• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
• Rotate and support pediatrics
