Medical Assistant/Front Office Support

Gastro Florida is the largest gastroenterology group in Tampa Bay with over 65 providers and over 25 locations in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Polk counties. We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, and able to integrate quickly with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient check-in and check-out.


• Insurance verification.


• Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation


• Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations


• Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation


• Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions


• Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)


• Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation


• Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows

Qualifications

• Previous specialty office care experience is required


• Previous GI experience helpful


• Reliable attendance is essential


• Ability to float to different locations as needed


• Immediate availability preferred
