Works from the appropriate documentation in the medical record. Classification systems include ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, as well as other specialty systems as required by diagnostic category. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations to guarantee proper reimbursement.
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Certification
Certified Professional Coder - CPC
Certified Coding Specialist Physician - CCS-P
Work Experience and Additional Information Minimum of two (2) years in practical coding experience is required. Coders are held to high standards; best practice is to achieve a greater than 95% accuracy rate during coding assessments. |
