Job Description - Medical Director-DATA 2000 Waiver
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides direct patient addiction treatment and care according to professional guidelines and best practices.
Maintains collaborative agreements with the psychiatric nurse practitioners.
Participates in the development of clinical systems that assures the provision of care for all clients in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
Participates in developing plans of care for clients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Maintains liaison with other departments/disciplines relating to the provision of psychiatric care.
REQUIREMENTS:
Physician licensed and currently registered as such by the New York State Education Department
Hold a Federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine-certified), within six months of employment
The medical director should hold either:
a subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties; or
an addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine; or
a certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM); or
a subspecialty board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Association?
