Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Location: Lake Success / New Hyde Park, NY. This is a primarily on-site opportunity with the potential for one remote workday per week. The role includes travel to courts and litigation venues throughout New York City, Long Island, and surrounding counties.

Note: Candidates must be admitted to practice law in New York and have 2+ years of directly relevant medical malpractice defense litigation experience, including hands-on experience with depositions, discovery, motion practice, medical records review, and trial preparation.

Job Description

• Defend clients in complex medical malpractice litigation from discovery through trial preparation
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents
• Conduct and defend depositions and manage written discovery
• Review medical records, expert materials, and other case evidence to develop defense strategies
• Prepare cases for hearings, conferences, motions, and trial
• Participate in court proceedings and assist with all phases of litigation
• Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, court personnel, experts, and opposing counsel
• Manage multiple active matters while maintaining deadlines and high-quality work product

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission required
• 2+ years of medical malpractice defense litigation experience
• Experience with depositions, discovery, motion practice, medical records review, and trial preparation
• Strong legal research, writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Willingness to travel to courts and venues throughout the greater New York area
• New Jersey Bar admission is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with electronic billing, online legal research, Microsoft Office, and Outlook preferred
