Key Responsibilities
Chart Maintenance: Assemble, analyze, log, and file resident electronic and paper medical charts.
Data Auditing: Review charts regularly to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Release of Information: Process authorized requests for medical records from families, physicians, and legal entities under strict HIPAA guidelines.
Admissions & Discharges: Update electronic health records (EHR) accurately during resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Administrative Support: Assist the Medical Records Director with daily office operations, scanning, and digital archiving.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 1 year of office or clerical experience (experience in a medical office or skilled nursing facility is highly preferred).
Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record systems (e.g., PointClickCare).
Compliance: Solid understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations and data security.
Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of accuracy in high-volume environments.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
