Help Make Healthcare Accessible for Individuals with Disabilities
Northern Hills Training Center (NHTC) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Services Assistant to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in accessing quality healthcare. This role plays a vital part in coordinating medical appointments, maintaining health records, ensuring accurate medication documentation, and advocating for individuals while promoting dignity, independence, and person-centered care.

What You'll Do
Schedule, coordinate, confirm, and transport individuals to medical appointments.
Attend appointments as needed and communicate important information to healthcare providers and support teams.
Ensure medical documentation is completed accurately and maintained in compliance with agency standards.
Assist with medication tracking, medication orders, MAR updates, and medication distribution.
Pick up medications from pharmacies and deliver them to the appropriate locations.
Maintain current healthcare records, appointment schedules, and medical documentation.
Monitor and replenish medical and first aid supplies as needed.
Support individuals in understanding and participating in their healthcare needs.
Maintain confidentiality of health information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Assist the Director of Medical Services with administrative and recordkeeping tasks.
Collaborate with nurses, residential teams, and healthcare providers to ensure quality care.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based documentation systems.
Ability to complete required agency training.
CPR Certification (or ability to obtain).
Preferred
Experience working in healthcare, human services, disability services, medical office administration, or direct support.
Experience with medication administration and healthcare documentation.
