Mental Health Support LPT (Licensed Psychiatric Technician Only)

Position: Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) - Correctional Facility

Location: Susanville, CA

Schedule: Full-Time/5 days a week 8 hour shifts

Pay Rate: $56 per hour (5% increase after 6 months)

Requirements:

• Current and active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license
  


• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  


• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) preferred
  

Responsibilities:

• Provide a basic level of general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled patients in a correctional setting
  


• Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitor patients with signs and symptoms of mental illness
  


• Perform psychiatric nursing procedures under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), including:
  
  
  
  • Administering medications and treatments, including hypodermic injections
    
  
  
  • Taking and charting vital signs such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration
    
  
  
  • Performing all other basic general nursing procedures within the scope of licensure
