Merchandise Associate

The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with TJ Maxx to hire Merchandise Associates for their new location near the Staten Island Mall. • Greet and help customers on the sales floor, answering questions and providing product support
• Run the register by processing purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately
• Restock shelves, hang/fold merchandise, and keep the sales floor organized throughout the day
• Set up new merchandise by unpacking shipments, tagging items, and getting products ready for the floor
• Fix and straighten displays during the day so the store stays neat and easy to shop
• Help maintain fitting rooms, including keeping them clean and returning items to the sales floor
• Support store team members with daily tasks to keep the store running smoothly during busy periods
• Follow basic safety and store procedures while working in a fast-paced retail environment

• Possesses excellent customer service skills
• Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs
• Possesses strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
• Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
• Works effectively with peers and supervisors
• Retail customer experience preferred
