Today, the Elkton PS\u0026C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA.\n\nJob Summary:\n\nThe Manager Facilities Maintenance 2 / Buildings and Grounds Facility Manager\n\nThe Facility Maintenance Manager is accountable for the day upkeep and reliability of all buildings and the surrounding grounds, ensuring a safe, functional, and well\u2011maintained environment for occupants and operations. This role oversees the carpentry shop, directing skilled tradespeople to perform repairs, modifications, and preventative projects, while also managing the chemical handlers and ground\u2011maintenance crew who are responsible for landscaping, waste handling, and site\u2011wide cleaning activities. The manager coordinates preventive\u2011maintenance programs, monitors work\u2011order compliance and utilizes data\u2011driven metrics to optimize resource allocation, budget adherence, and service\u2011level performance across all physical assets. By providing clear, objective\u2011oriented direction and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the manager ensures that facility infrastructure remains operational, compliant with safety and environmental regulations, and supports the organization\u2019s mission objectives\n\nCore Responsibilities:\n\n * Overall Facility Operations\n\n * Oversees facilities maintenance and grounds department to ensure reliable day\u2011to\u2011day support and upkeep of the site.\n\n * Key aspects include:\n\n * General building carpentry including internal and external repairs and building envelope maintenance and improvement (windows, doors, roofing, gutters). Preventative inspections with building owners.\n\n * Finishes and coatings of buildings including flashing and painting for weather protection.\n\n * Structural repairs where necessary when determined by engineering.\n\n * Roadway and paving maintenance including, new asphalt, hot tar crack sealing, spray coating and pavement stripping/ painting.\n\n * Lock smithing\n\n * Day to Day support of chemical handling and wastewater.\n\n * Maintaining the site grounds; including general waste handling, mowing, tree clearing, fence repair, snow removal, upkeep of storm water management features and site drainage.\n\n * Organize, inventory and maintain best 5S practices for all tools, facility related equipment, carpentry consumables, paint and spares that are required to support the site.\n\n * Leadership, Talent Development \u0026 Culture\n\n * Lead with adherence to Northrop Grumman\u2019s leadership values.\n\n * Directly manage 11 employees in the buildings and grounds department.\n\n * Conduct monthly one\u2011on\u2011ones and develop individual training and development plans.\n\n * Champion a high\u2011performance culture focusing on safety, engagement, development, and retention.\n\n * Drive standards, enforces best practices, and leads continuous improvement initiatives across projects.\n\n * Financial\n\n * Own the buildings and grounds portion of the total facility budget.
