Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 14, Step 1 of the Exempt pay range schedule ($40.40/hour), with an opportunity for an increase to Step 2 ($42.70/hour) after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

The ODH Public Health Laboratory assists the agency, local health departments, and clinicians across Ohio in disease outbreak investigations, public health emergencies, and identification of disease causes to aid in treatment and prevention. What You'll Do:
The Public Health Laboratory is seeking a Microbiology Supervisor 2 to manage and direct multiple sections within the microbiology subdivision. The Microbiology Supervisor 2 will collaborate with the Bureau Chief, Assistant Chief, and CLIA Laboratory Director in quality and safety planning, strategic planning, program conceptualization, and future testing direction to drive the public health laboratory forward. This position is a critical addition to the laboratory’s leadership structure, aimed at strengthening operational oversight, ensuring high‑quality test performance, and supporting the advancement of public health laboratory services.
