The Middle School Ministry Coordinator assists in shepherding Worship Center's middle school students by creating a weekly environment where they can grow in their relationship with God, build meaningful relationships, and become active participants in the life of the church. This person provides primary leadership for the weekly middle school gathering by teaching God's Word, developing volunteer leaders, and fostering a welcoming, engaging environment for students. They work closely with and reports to the Student Pastor.
Schedule
This is a part-time, exempt position requiring approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule includes Sunday evening ministry responsibilities, preparation throughout the week, designated office hours as needed, and occasional flexibility for student ministry events outside of regular hours.
Experience and Abilities
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree in Bible, Ministry, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Experience leading students or serving in student ministry required. Teaching and volunteer leadership experience preferred.
- License/Certification: Valid PA Driver’s License.
- Specific Abilities: Strong relational leadership with the ability to teach God's Word in an engaging, biblically sound manner. Ability to coach and encourage volunteers, build meaningful relationships with students, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively as part of a ministry team. Demonstrates initiative, spiritual maturity, and a heart for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the weekly middle school gathering in a way that reflects Worship Center's mission, vision, beliefs, and Student Ministry strategy.
- Faithfully teach God's Word in a way that is biblically sound, engaging, and relevant to middle school students.
- Plan and lead the weekly middle school environment, creating opportunities for worship, biblical teaching, meaningful relationships, and spiritual growth.
- Encourage, coach, and shepherd volunteer leaders while fostering a healthy, unified team culture.
- Build intentional relationships with students by maintaining a visible, approachable, and caring presence during weekly gatherings and ministry events.
- Communicate significant student or family needs to the Student Pastor for appropriate pastoral follow-up.
- Provide input to the Student Pastor regarding teaching series, programming, and the overall health of the middle school ministry.
- Communicate clearly with volunteer leaders regarding schedules, responsibilities, and gathering logistics.
- Lead the middle school-specific elements of camps, retreats, outreach events, and other Student Ministry initiatives under the direction of the Student Pastor.
- Work closely with the Student Pastor and Student Ministry team.
- Other duties as assigned.
