Job Description - Mill Manager

The Mill Manager will oversee the operations of our underground Zinc operation located in Gouverneur, NY. This role requires a dedicated professional who will manage a team, ensure production efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards. As a key member of the operations team, you will work closely with various departments to maximize production opportunities and uphold safety and environmental protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mill personnel, including supervisors, lead millwrights, and laboratory technicians
  • Monitor milling processes to maintain or increase production efficiency
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control in mill operations
  • Collaborate with Mine and Shaft Departments to minimize production interruptions
  • Oversee maintenance planning and address production issues
  • Maintain chemical inventory and manage metallurgical accounting
  • Provide metallurgical data to the A/R Department for invoicing
  • Communicate production schedules and inventories to Shipping Department
  • Stay current with industry practices and technology
  • Coordinate with Environmental Department on water quality and treatment
  • Budget planning for operations and compliance with policies
  • Ensure the safety of all employees and contractors
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in chemical or mechanical engineering is preferred
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with milling and maintenance operations, and flotation operations is a plus
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
  • Valid drivers license required

  • Bachelors degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mill operations or related fields
  • Proven experience in managing mill personnel and operations

  • Do you have working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation software
  • 8. Do you have a valid drivers license.

9. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
