Position Summary


We are seeking skilled mechanics, mechanic trainees, and hands-on tradespeople who want to build a career in industrial mechanical assembly, repair, troubleshooting, and custom product work.


This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy solving mechanical problems, working with large components, using precision measuring equipment, and assembling or repairing equipment in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.


Experienced mechanics are encouraged to apply. Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn will also be considered for training and development.


Responsibilities




  • Perform mechanical assembly, repair, maintenance, rebuilding, and troubleshooting on industrial equipment, custom components, and mechanical assemblies.




  • Diagnose mechanical issues involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.




  • Read, interpret, or learn to interpret work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, service manuals, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic prints.




  • Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges, squares, levels, and other inspection tools.




  • Inspect precision-fit components and verify press fits, clearance fits, bearing fits, gear fits, alignment, running tolerances, and surface finish requirements.




  • Calculate or verify assembly requirements including torque values, clearances, preloads, gear ratios, fits, and dimensional relationships using engineering drawings and specifications.




  • Perform or assist with press-fit, shrink-fit, thermal-fit, and cryogenic assembly methods when properly trained.




  • Apply an understanding of material properties, thermal expansion, and mechanical fit during assembly and repair work.




  • Install, inspect, and service bearings, shafts, gears, bushings, seals, couplings, hydraulic components, pneumatic components, fasteners, and related mechanical systems.




  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, lifting devices, and material-handling equipment.




  • Collaborate with machining, fabrication, welding, maintenance, and field-service personnel to complete projects safely and efficiently.




  • Document inspections, measurements, repairs, and completed work while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.




Qualifications




  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, millwright work, equipment repair, industrial maintenance, machining, welding, fabrication, heavy equipment, agriculture, oil and gas, military, vocational/technical training, or another hands-on skilled trade is preferred.




  • Experienced mechanics, mechanic trainees, and individuals seeking a long-term skilled trades career are encouraged to apply.




  • Strong mechanical aptitude, dependability, safety awareness, curiosity, and willingness to learn.




  • Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools, blueprint reading, basic metrology, shop mathematics, decimal/fraction conversions, and fit-and-tolerance concepts.




  • Interest in developing skills related to hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical troubleshooting, basic electrical troubleshooting, gear ratios, torque calculations, surface finishes, and precision assembly.




  • Strong attention to detail with pride in workmanship and commitment to quality.




  • Ability to work safely around large components, rotating equipment, overhead lifting equipment, welding operations, machining equipment, and industrial shop environments.




  • Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
