Position Summary:

Ajax/CECO/Erie Press is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Millwright to join our team. The individual will be responsible for ensuring proper assembly and craftsmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles, and the ability to read technical diagrams and schematics. 

Job Duties

- Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools, power tools and overhead cranes up to 40 tons. 

- Dismantles machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools. Welding various brackets 

- Operate forklift, scissor lift, boom lifts

- Repair and lubricate machines and equipment. 

- Operate service grinder to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Cleaning and packaging 

-Work in a team environment or independently on projects 

- May perform installation and maintenance work as part of team of skilled trades workers. Up to 10%-15% travel annually, in 2-week periods 

- Performs daily duties from various drawings under minimal supervision. 

- Train and support onboarding of new hires.  

- Leads build teams in all activities including but not limited to; Works with PM to develop a project schedule, coordinating the erection, testing and teardown of machines, checking all sub-assemblies and main assemblies delivered to assembly floor & completing sign off. 

What you need to be successful:

- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, industrial, foundry, production or related manufacturing environment.

- 3+ years of experience in any of the listed areas; mechanical assembly, hydraulics, welding, pipefitting.

- Must be certified in one or a combination of hydraulics, welding, electrical  

- Experience working in an environment with heavy machinery  

- Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

- Associate’s degree or technical certification in relevant industry 

- 3 years of experience as an assembler
