ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Participate in the routine operations of the Missoula Thrift Store such as stocking, organizing, and replenishing merchandise on racks and shelves.
• Observe all safety rules and follow safe job procedures. Assist in creating and maintaining a clean, appealing, and rich environment in the retail and/or processing area of the store.
• Be willing and able to cross-train in all areas of the store.
• Communicate information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Assist in maintaining working relationships with co-workers and customers.
• Assist in the coordination of sales promotions, special activities, and merchandise displays.
• Exhibit and practice good work habits, including honesty, punctuality and the ability to organize and manage time and information. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Be willing to learn to operate machinery required for daily operations, such as a baler, forklift and pallet jacks.
• Provides exceptional customer service as shown by respectful and friendly interactions and a commitment to providing satisfaction with each job or retail experience.
• Assist in maintaining compliance of assigned facility and services to standards prescribed by Flathead Industries, the State Department of Public Health and Human Services, and any and all licensing agencies.
• Perform basic mathematical computations to balance petty cash funds, count money and calculate raw data summaries. This would also include the running of the store cash register.
• Operation of computer, e.g. documentation, word processing, spreadsheet usage, general email and internet accessing.
• Ability to manipulate, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and lift to/from floor to/from shoulder level.
• May work at outlying stores or weekends, as needed.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• The position requires education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and completion of occupationally specific training.
• Ability to pass criminal and other background checks.
• Ability to successfully perform all responsibilities shown above.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional; effective, harmonious, working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with stakeholders, including but not limited to staff, consumers, family members, medical professionals and community members.
• Ability to show critical thinking and positive decision-making skills.
• Ability to safely and frequently lift, move or otherwise handle items weighing 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills.
