Maintain and repair aerial devices, digger derricks, and related utility equipment
Perform inspections and diagnostics to determine overall equipment condition
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and chassis systems
Restore equipment to full working order
Component Installation and Replacement
Remove and install hydraulic system components including hoses, PTOs, pumps, cylinders, valves, fittings, and related parts
Repair or replace aerial and boom components including rotation bearings, swing drive gearboxes, outriggers, tool circuits, and related systems
Remove and install brake system components including air brakes, drums, S-cams, slack adjusters, compressors, and valves
Service air conditioning systems including compressors, evaporators, expansion valves, and perform system recharging
Remove and install diesel engine components including injectors, turbochargers, fuel pumps, and cooling system components
Service radiators and charge air coolers including fan systems and associated parts
Diagnostics and Documentation
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs
Ensure all work meets safety and operational standards
Technical Knowledge Requirements
Strong working knowledge of:
Hydraulics
Electrical systems
Diesel engines
Driveline and drivetrain systems
Power steering systems
PTO systems
Air conditioning systems
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of five years of experience in utility equipment or heavy equipment mechanics
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organization and time management skills
Professional demeanor with effective communication skills
Ability to interact positively with vendors and customers
Must have your own tools
Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, including tools and equipment
Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers
Travel may be required based on business needs
Overtime may be required
Must have close visual acuity for detailed work and equipment diagnostics
Majority of the work is done in the field where it is hot, cold, and sometimes raining
