Job Description - Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
MTSI is seeking a highly skilled Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support an advanced air platform program. at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This role involves the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and tools to design and analyze system architectures, ensuring seamless integration, interoperability, and performance of mission-critical systems.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in systems modeling, analysis, and integration, contributing to cutting-edge defense technologies.
Responsibilities
Lead and assist with development of MBSE models, plans, and documentation
Lead and assist with defining and maintaining customer requirements within an MBSE environment
Lead and assist with defining and maintaining customer enterprise architecture, system architecture, behavior, use cases, and test in an MBSE environment
Proactively resolve technical issues that could impact development schedule or overall performance of the Digital effort
Develop Schedules, Plans of Action, and Milestones to maintain development and test schedules
Prepare and present MBSE status reports, briefings, and evaluation reports
Conduct and participate in technical meetings and working groups
Provide awareness of lessons learned from past experiences to customer team
Provide recommendations for programmatic, financial, or technical decisions to engineers
Assist government engineers by tracking and monitoring contract performance in accordance with government CDRLs, SOW, and clauses for Operational Analysis efforts
Qualifications
Required
5 years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or related systems engineering roles.
Goal-oriented with excellent people skills, ability to work in a team environment, strong work ethic, and proactive in all manners related to the job
Cameo, MagicDraw, or Teamwork Cloud experience
SysML experience
Clear and effective oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
A Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or Operations Research is highly desired
Desired
7+ years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or related systems engineering roles.
Certifications that validate proficiency in systems engineering and modeling:
INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP): Demonstrates mastery of systems engineering practices.
Certified SysML Model Builder (OCUP): Proof of expertise in SysML modeling.
Model-Based Engineering Certification: Specialized training in MBSE methodologies.
DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Certification: Expertise in defense-specific architecture frameworks.
CompTIA Security+ or CISSP: Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks for defense systems integration.
Lean Six Sigma Certification: Process improvement expertise applicable to systems architecture and modeling.
Experience with advanced air platform systems such as sensors, communications, avionics, and propulsion.
Knowledge of simulation and analysis platforms like MATLAB, Simulink, or AFSIM.
Familiarity with DoD standards and frameworks (RMF, MIL-STD, and NIST SP 800-171).
Clearance Requirements:
Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility required.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to contract requirements.
