Job summary
Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Model Shop Machinist III. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility and is responsible for playing a key role in the rapid growth of both new product development and legacy production. The machinist contributes to the development of prototype parts, providing feedback to the design engineering organization on manufacturability. As a level III machinist, not only will you work on some extremely challenging projects, but will also have the opportunity to help develop manufacturing processes, determine tooling requirements and utilize various programs to evaluate solid models and the develop CNC programs, etc. The machinist is frequently called upon to solve complex and unique problems related to repair / rework of machined parts. You will work within a dynamic team that will help in the develop of new machining skills/techniques under the guidance and supervision of more tenured Model Shop machinists.
Job responsibilities
Familiar with general cutting and measuring tools used in a model shop environment
Ability to utilize standard measuring and inspection equipment for measurement of high tolerance, fine finish parts
Knowledge and experience with reading dimensioned drawings.
Experience with part inspection and measurement methods of tight tolerance features.
Understands the differences of standard materials (aluminum, CRES, Plastics, etc).
