Job Description

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Mold Technicians.

  • Assign work, prioritize daily activities, and ensure coverage to meet production demands.

  • Conduct performance feedback and training assessments.

  • Enforce safety policies and plant standards.

 

Molding & Tooling Operations

  • Ensure molds are properly set, maintained, repaired, and released for production.

  • Troubleshoot molding and tooling-related issues.

  • Support mold changeovers and production readiness.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and tooling repairs.

 

Engineering & Process Support

  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.

  • Support new program launches and mold trials.

  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Recommend tooling and process improvements.

 

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits.

  • Maintain standard work and documentation.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive scrap, downtime, and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Improve mold reliability and technician efficiency.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 5 years molding experience.

  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

  • Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience.

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and lean manufacturing.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

  • Experience with new product launches.

  • Familiarity with SPC, PFMEA, and PPAP.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective leadership and communication.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
