Molding Technician (Machinist)

Wilcox is currently recruiting for a Molding Technician on second shift. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mold Injection Machines to create parts to meet blueprint specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for starting machines, operating machines, and shutting down machines according to standard operating procedure.
Performing light machine maintenance to keep machines operating.
Mixing material to correct color, ensuring optimal mix humidity to avoid air pockets.
Filling hoppers, ensuring correct temperature, time, and pressure.
Loading dryer.
Pulling molds apart to extra part and then cleaning, conditioning, maintaining and reassembling molds.
Monitoring and reporting daily production results.
Identifies process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce scrap rates, implements improvements, and keeps the machines operating.
Completes requisitions for materials: plastics, liquid silicon rubber, dye, etc.
Keeps work area clean, neat and safe.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

2+ years’ experience in plastic and/or liquid silicon rubber injection molding.
Capable of distinguishing color variation and recognizing and detecting mold defects.
Must have excellent knowledge and working experience in injection molding.
Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
Knowledge of grinders and hoppers.
Self-starter with good communication skills.
Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical mobility includes walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50lbs.
