HAPO is now accepting applications for a Mortgage Loan Officer in Yakima, WA. We are seeking an individual who is ambitious, self-motivated and who strives to represent HAPO’s core commitment “Be in the Moment” and standard of service “Defy Expectations” with our members, community as well as the team they are a part of. The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) is responsible for proactively soliciting new residential mortgage business and selling HAPO Mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals. They must seek out clients, which requires developing relationships with real estate companies and other sources that can refer prospective applicants. This individual will be responsible for originating new mortgage loans by providing exceptional customer service to our membership while communicating to all parties involved in the loan process.

 

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and Maintain successful relationships with business referral sources, existing and prospective HAPO Members.

  • Prospect new Mortgage lending opportunities.

  • Provide complete loan applications package to processing department.

  • Ensure exceptional customer experience by overseeing loan process from origination to close and provide on-going communication to members and business partners. 

  • Maintains confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.

  • Decisions and actions in work relations and handling of business issues demonstrate consistent commitment to openness, honesty, mutual respect and shared success.

  • Consistently reliable.

  • Consistently treats others with respect for their capabilities and deals with them in ways that build and preserve working relationships.

  • Maintains a broad and current knowledge base of the mortgage industry. Understands the impact of developments and trends on the industry and the organization.

  • Understands the importance of meeting and completing all tasks with in the set and regulated guidelines throughout the entire Mortgage process.

  • Develop Business Referral Network through Marketing, cold-calling, prospective and networking activities. Participate in community efforts to promote home ownership.

  • Meet with prospective borrowers, Review / Analyze credit and financial data, Determine borrower financial objective and goals, present appropriate products and programs and explain guidelines.

  • Apprise of pricing and lock rate as required.

  • Identify appropriate cross sell opportunities.

  • Collect supporting loan documents as required and upload complete application package to lender partners.

  • Work with processing department to ensure that all loan conditions are met in a timely manner.

 

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.

  • Minimum of two to four year college degree with business administration/finance exposure preferred.

  • Must be able to have an active Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) license/registration with HAPO as the sponsoring company.

  • Travel is required



Location: On-Site, Yakima (WA)

Schedule: Must be able to work 35-40 hours a week between the hours of 8:30am – 5:30pm M-F 

Starting Annual Salary: Base of $36,000 + Commission. (Average annual income including Base + Commission = $125,000 – 250,000+)
