Our Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is "easiest to do business with".  We will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants.  We will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Job Description

Position MPI Estimation Manager   Location Birmingham, AL   Directly reports to MPI- Product & Pricing Manager   Position Summary The Estimator Manager will have direct responsibility for a team of Estimators and work with company leadership to provide cost planning & estimating services to support multiple waterworks product lines. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems, metrics and standard work used in reviewing plans, drawings, and specifications to identify opportunities for a project and produce quotations. They will also oversee specification and reviews for incoming plans. They will have the ability to measure and track department workloads and response times. They will need to be able to communicate effectively across McWane divisions and facilities to manage customer and deadline demands and tabulate a comprehensive product opportunity in the form of a accurate take-offs and formal quotations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Management, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college/university - Minimum five plus (5+) years of estimator experience in heavy industrial manufacturing in the general waterworks products industry. - Familiarity other industry technology-based productivity tools and construction project databases. (ConstructConnect/iSquareFoot, etc.); CPQ (configure, price, quote) software tools; and team productivity tools (Slack, Trello, etc.) - Demonstrated supervisor experience required. - Knowledge of blueprints, engineering, technical drawings, product knowledge a major part of this position. - Project management experience and project management software skills. - Detail oriented, adept at reading documents and engineering drawings and specifications. - Proficiency in MS Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. - Mechanical aptitude or engineering background. - Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects with attention to detail. - Excellent time management skills. - Excellent written communication and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experienced with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and able to guide a team in leveraging CRM tools to track, manage and measure department activities. Additional Information

Essential Functions        - Manage daily activities of estimating departments. - Develop cost estimates and coordinate proposals for assigned estimating projects.  - Provide area specific forecasts and report project status. - Engage in business development and identify new leads. - Manage multiple bids and perform as liaison between estimating team and management. - Revise estimates and implement required changes. - Maintain client relations by being lead contact of proposal for clients. - Monitor and ensure bid format meet clients standards. - Evaluate Customer Request for Tender/Bid/Quotation documents - Identify and learn customer requirements for bid purposes. - Coordinate bid inputs from all organizational departments - Coordinate with subcontractors to receive input on pricing on labor, materials, and other costs. - Participate pre and post bid meetings as required. - Review, provide feedback and evaluate performance of Estimators. - Market company’s services to existing and potential clients
