Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Minimum Requirements – 2 Years In Mri

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with MRI and/or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) ; BLS certified


Equipment (Experience And/Or Training)

  • Minimum Requirements - Diagnostic Equipment.


Specialized Training

  • Minimum Requirements - Ama Accredited Program Or Equivalent.
  • Preferred At Hire - Pacs


Computer Skills (Hardware & Software)

  • Minimum Requirements - Crt/Hospital Computer System

  • Demonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. Diplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful. Organizational Skills Are A Must-Have. Fosters A Teamwork Environment. Must Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate Manner.

Job Description:

1.Performs all MRI scans. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization devices and prescribed protocols according to department policy and procedures.
2.Receives consultation request and checks for special instructions from the requesting physician. Consult with the Radiologist as necessary. Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introduces Completely explain examination procedure to the patient and his/her family if present.
3.Updates patient examination history file records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, and technique factors, contrast media injections. Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paperwork as required.
4.Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room or workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items.
5.Ensure that section meets all policies, procedures, Joint Commission, DFS, ACR regulations, protocols, etc.
6.Responsible for ensuring patients are scheduled timely (I.e. time until the next available appointment meets standards, etc.) including inpatients, outpatients, emergency room, and add-ons.
7.Coordinates staff schedules including call schedule (I.e. vacation, education, sickness, etc.) to ensure department needs are met including arranging for PRN coverage, etc.
8.Participate in evaluation (90 days, 6 months, and annual) process for associates in sections including interviewing, hiring, counseling, etc.
9.Ensure the department meets all Assign metrics, labor productivity, TAT.
10.Assists the director/manager in budget preparations, equipment selection and recommending procedure changes to the Radiologist.
11.Perform quality control procedures to ensure that all equipment operates at optimal levels.
12.Provide education and training to staff in the utilization of new equipment features/benefits and scanning techniques.
13.Assists the Director with vendors on selection and evaluation of new products, equipment, services, etc.
14.Serves as liaison for sections with physicians on issues regarding schedules, issues, capital needs, etc.
15.Serves as preceptor for new employees in section including orientation, competencies, etc. to ensure all completed in a timely manner.
16.Troubleshoots daily operational issues within sections and informs/involves Director/Manager as necessary.
17.Works with other Managers, other Coordinators, and Director to ensure the entire Imaging Department functions smoothly.
18.Interviews and recommends the hiring of staff and, when necessary, recommends discipline and/or discharges. Effectively counsels and coaches’ employees when necessary, following guidelines set forth in the policy and procedure manual.
19.Monitors quality of images through random daily review of cases. Tracks and reports on all service-related issues that affect quality.
20.Reports all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate service engineer.
21.Ensure that the department is ACR certified as Chief Technologist/Technical Director
22.Age Specific Competency: Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and can meet the needs of and provide care of these patients. The age categories to be included are: Neonatal/Infant: 0 - 11 months; Pediatrics: 1 - 12 years; Adolescence: 13 - 17 years; Young Adult/Adult: 18 - 64 years; Adult/Middle-Aged: 65 - 79 years; Geriatric: 80+ years
