What you can expect to work on…
The Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) Process Development Lead position plays a key role in the transition of processes from R&D through validation and into the production environment while developing strong capability in process development, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develops, evaluates, and leads implementation of process and system changes to improve production accelerator power, energy, robustness, reliability, and efficiency, guiding cross-functional teams through technical evaluation, execution, and adoption
- Supports accelerator production team to ensure consistent beam performance, controls, and reliability
- Performs commissioning, validation, and factory acceptance testing of new accelerator systems & components
- Performs production process tracking, trending, & analysis for yield tracking, downtime analysis, investigations, and production KPIs
- Leads complex troubleshooting and process performance investigations when accelerator performance drifts out of control or scale-up causes instabilities, facilitating technical teams through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustained process improvements
- Utilizes strong facilitation skills and the ability to guide groups through ambiguity, technical disagreement, problem solving, and decision-making
- Regularly coaches and mentors others in the how and why of standard work, project execution, structured problem solving, and process-improvement practices
What you need to succeed…
- Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experience
- Physics, nuclear engineering or related field
- 4+ years’ of hands on experience with the following:
- Accelerator systems
- Radioactive material
- Routine production environment
- cGMP regulated environment
- 2+ years of experience leading project driven work processes
- Working knowledge & application of apply project-management philosophies to individual work and defined team activities

- Master’s degree in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experience

- 7+ years’ of hands on experience with the following:
- Accelerator systems
- Radioactive material
- Routine production environment
- cGMP regulated environment
- 7+ years of experience with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines specific for the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., FDA, GMP, ICH, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technical or process-improvement initiatives in a regulated manufacturing environment
- 4+ years’ of project management experience
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP or FPX)
Other things to know…
- Full-time position
- Niowave’s standard operating hours are Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
- This position will have regular working hours Monday – Friday with an expectation of adjusting to meet shift work requirements and to engage with staff working outside of standard hours as needed
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
