This role puts you in charge of shaping the next generation of nurse educators and family nurse practitioners. You'll lead both the MSN-Ed and MSN-FNP tracks, with real authority over curriculum, faculty, and program direction rather than a title with limited influence. If you've been ready to move from teaching or clinical practice into a position where you set the academic vision, this is that opportunity.
Why You'll Love This Role
You'll oversee two distinct MSN tracks, giving you broader scope and more strategic influence than a single-track leadership role. Curriculum design is yours to direct, and you'll be the one ensuring it stays aligned with AACN Essentials and NONPF competencies as graduate nursing education continues to evolve.
Beyond administration, you'll stay connected to the classroom by teaching graduate-level nursing courses that match your expertise. You'll also build and maintain the clinical partnerships and preceptor networks that make or break FNP and nursing education practicum placements, giving you a direct hand in student success rather than just reviewing outcomes after the fact. Compensation is $135K/Yr, commensurate with your education and experience.
What Your Week Looks Like
Guiding curriculum evaluation and improvement across the MSN-Ed and MSN-FNP tracks
Recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty to build a strong, collaborative teaching team
Reviewing admissions, progression, and retention data to inform student support strategies
Maintaining CCNE accreditation compliance and California BRN regulatory standards, including self-studies and site visit preparation
Strengthening clinical partnerships to secure quality practicum placements
Teaching graduate-level nursing coursework as your schedule and expertise allow
Reporting on student outcomes and program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Doctorate in Nursing (PhD, DNP, or EdD) or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
MSN with specialization in Nursing Education and/or Family Nurse Practitioner
Unencumbered California RN license (or license-eligible); FNP certification and licensure if applicable
At least three years of graduate-level nursing education experience
Demonstrated experience in program administration, curriculum development, and academic leadership
Working knowledge of CCNE and BRN accreditation and regulatory standards
Preferred:
FNP-BC or FNP-C certification with clinical experience
Graduate teaching experience in MSN-FNP and/or MSN-Ed tracks
Experience managing multiple nursing program tracks in a university setting
Familiarity with online and hybrid program delivery
Track record of developing clinical partnerships and coordinating practicums
Scholarly contributions, research, or leadership within professional nursing organizations
