What We Are Looking For: Walstrom Marine is looking for a Multimedia Production Specialist to lead the visual storytelling of our inventory, locations, and people. This is a hands-on photo, video, and drone role at its core: you'll be the one behind the camera capturing inventory stills, 360-degree spins, walkarounds, and aerial footage across our locations. You'll also own how that inventory is visually merchandised online — making sure every listing looks its best — and you'll build out a well-organized, company-wide content library that any team can draw from to tell our story across channels.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Photograph and film all inventory — stills, 360-degree spins, walkarounds, and drone/aerial footage — to a consistent, dealership-wide quality standard, and own how that inventory is merchandised across our website and listing platforms.
- Inspect each boat before shooting and hold it to a high presentation standard — wipe down minor dirt or water spots personally, or coordinate with the Detailing department to schedule cleaning when a boat needs more than that, rather than shooting a unit that isn't ready.
- Coordinate with the Inventory Manager to schedule and stage boats for photography and video, on land or in water, and with the sales team to schedule and travel to brokerage listing locations, since those boats aren't on our lots.
- Photograph and film dealership locations, facilities, and events, as well as staff and team members — including new hire headshots — for the website, internal materials, and marketing.
- Build and maintain a centralized, company-wide content library of photo and video assets — accessible to any team, not just marketing — and keep it accurate as manufacturers add or discontinue models.
- Edit raw video into finished inventory content (walkarounds, feature highlights, and similar), and manage the Walstrom Marine YouTube channel; marketing may also pull raw footage separately for their own edits.
- Design and produce boat listing sheets/posters — one-sheets featuring the boat's photo, a QR code linking to its website listing, and key specs and description.
- Create and maintain in-lot/in-water boat pricing signage, keeping it accurate and up to date as inventory and pricing change.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on ongoing content needs and shoot priorities.
- Maintain photo, video, and drone equipment, and keep digital assets organized, labeled, and backed up under a consistent file and naming structure.
What you need to be successful:
- Demonstrated experience in photography and videography; a portfolio is required.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire (Walstrom Marine covers the cost of certification).
- Experience with 360-degree photography equipment and software preferred.
- Strong eye for composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
- Keen eye for detail and high-quality standards — catches things like dirt, water spots, or clutter before a boat is shot, not after.
- Proficiency with photo/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar).
- Basic graphic design skills in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) for producing listing sheets and signage.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and consistency across a large volume of content.
- Willing and able to travel frequently between Walstrom Marine locations — this role requires regular travel as a core part of the job, not an occasional exception.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Marine industry experience a plus but not required — experience in an adjacent industry such as real estate, high-end retail, or automotive is also helpful.
Benefits: Benefits include year-round employment, paid holidays, 401K with a 5% company match, vacation time, health, dental, vision insurance, Company-paid life insurance and Company-paid short-term disability along with multiple voluntary plans. Company branded gear including Helly Hansen, Carhartt, and more.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, occasional weekend availability for events
- This is an in-person, on site position based out of any of our Northern Michigan Locations
