Job Responsibilities:


The Multimedia Reporter develops impactful professional‑ and public‑facing content in support of communications plans that promote ADA strategic initiatives and advance the ADA’s mission and vision. Blending traditional journalism with modern digital media to inform and engage key stakeholders, this role is responsible for reporting, interviewing, and writing news stories for ADA owned channels like ADA News, while also extending storytelling opportunities through multimedia content such as videos and social media posts.


Additionally, the Multimedia Reporter develops communications tactics to amplify priority stories and initiatives across ADA channels. The role also monitors analytics and performance metrics to refine content strategies and optimize future storytelling efforts, ensuring ADA communications reach and resonate with target audiences.


Must Have:



  • Bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of degree

  • 3 years of experience (or 7 years in lieu of degree) with writing, interviewing and reporting across print, digital, and social platforms, producing multimedia content for specialized audiences

  • Experience tailoring stories for various channels, including web, broadcast, print and social media, and collaborating in an environment that balances planned content with rapid response/issues content

  • Experience communicating clearly about complex, evolving issues

  • Experience interpreting analytics, audience data and engagement metrics to guide editorial decisions and strengthen multiplatform storytelling strategy

  • Knowledge of emerging digital technologies and best practices to produce engaging, targeted content

  • Must have excellent writing, editing, analytical, collaborative, project management, problem solving, verbal communication, facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • A self-starter, results-focused, and strategic

  • Must have a level of organization and attention to detail, strong process orientation, demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment

  • Proficiency in MS Office (M365)

  • Travel twice per year, 1-3 nights per trip, for news coverage at events

  • Position may require more than the standard number of hours of work within a workweek, may require before or after hours work and weekend work


Nice to Have:



  • Health care communications background and an understanding of healthcare issues and health topics that affect providers and the public

  • Video production or scripting experience

  • Newsroom or news organization background

  • Familiarity with complex workflow and related review and approval processes for the creation and publication of digital content

  • Basic SEO/AEO/GEO knowledge

  • Google Analytics (or similar metrics platform) proficiency
