Description

Make a meaningful impact with children and adolescents as a Music Therapist at Clara’s House!  In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing music therapy individual and group sessions as a formal intervention to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of patients aged 3-18. The Music Therapist is part of an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatry, psychotherapists, recreational therapist, art therapists, and other program staff. 


Core responsibilities:

  • Uses the creative music process with patients in group or individual sessions to achieve the therapeutic goal of healthy self-expression and growth, self-awareness, and communication.
  • Collaborates with other health care team members to plan and implement the plan of care.  Communicates clinical observations to the interdisciplinary team and modifies the plan of care based on patient's progress. 
  • Contributes to the formulation of individual patient treatment planning and discharge planning.
  • Documents the patient's response to music therapy interventions and progress toward goals in electronic health record.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities.  Monitors program effectiveness by initiating and participating in evaluation of the current and development of new programs to better serve patient needs.



Schedule

  • Full time | 80 hours every two weeks
  • Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • On-site | Clara’s House | St. Cloud MN



Pay and Benefits

  • Music Therapist starting pay begins at $28.34 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience.
  • Salary range: $28.34 - $43.35 per hour

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy required.  Master's degree preferred.
  • Required to complete and pass the National Certification Exam (CBMT) and obtain credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified within 6 months.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents with various diagnoses and of diverse backgrounds is preferred.
  • Experience in a group setting is preferred.
