Position Title: Nail Technician

Classification: Exempt/Hourly/Commissioned

Reports to: Department Manager and/or Location Manager

Department: Nail

Job Summary:

Specializes in nail care services to provide client satisfaction with professional service, education and consultation.

Essential Functions:

• Provides a caring environment to all clients and staff members at all times.
• Follows About Faces protocol when performing any nail care consultation or service.
• Attends all training provided by About Faces to gain knowledge and become proficient with professional and retail products and services.
• Accountable to achieve key metric goals in Service Sales, Retail Sales, Pre-Booking and Client Retention.
• Supports retail sales area and maintaining it as needed and during downtime.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attends and participates in all company required trainings and meetings.
• Records services furnished to the client and completes client’s home care sales and product prescription.
• Maintains a clean and organized work space.
• Maintains all client records and documentation as required.
• Maintains sanitized and sterilized instruments and equipment in the work area at all times.
• Builds and maintains a growing client base.
• Assists in store duties as required by location.
• Maintains company dress code and presents a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Cross promotes services in other departments.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

• Nail Technician License/Cosmetology License as required by State of Maryland.
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with staff at all levels.
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written communications.
• Ability to assess client’s disposition to provide a caring experience.
• Proficient in latest nail techniques and sanitation and sterilization requirements.
• Ability to be flexible with schedule.
• Ability to gain knowledge of all retail products and assist clients as needed.
• Ability to mentor other staff members when requested.
• Ability to respond to requests for service and assistance.

Other:

• On a regular basis, requires the ability to get from one location to another within facility including walking up and down steps in some locations.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to reach with hands and arms.
• On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and walk.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
• On an occasional basis, requires the ability to climb a ladder and balance.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to speak, listen, hear and maintain color vision.

Work Environment:

The Nail Technician will be required to manage a number of responsibilities at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of staff, visitors and clients. The Nail Technician may find the environment to be busy, noisy and driven by schedule critical deadlines. Additional responsibilities to support services may differ dependent upon the location. She/he will need excellent organizational, customer service, time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
