The Flagstaff Family Food Center opened in 1991 as a soup kitchen. Since then, it has grown into the largest Food Bank And Kitchen in Northern Arizona. Its mission statement is Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Every Day. In 2024, FFFC provided over 7.3 million lbs. of food to 7,000 households. FFFC partners with many local organizations to serve at-risk and under-served families where they are with fresh produce and groceries six days a week.
About the Neighborhood Distributions Position:
The Neighborhood Distributions Associate plays a key role within the organization, focusing on assisting with the day-to-day operations and conducting of neighborhood food box distributions. The Neighborhood Distributions Associate interacts with clients, volunteers, and staff, requiring excellent customer service and the ability to accomplish assigned tasks. The Associate must have a positive, respectful demeanor with clients, volunteers, and staff to support the mission of the Flagstaff Family Food Center. Neighborhood distributions occur outdoors regardless of weather conditions and require the breakdown of bulk products; any applying candidates need to be prepared to operate under these conditions. This position reports to the Distributions Manager.
Important Notes:
This position involves operating a company vehicle or conducting deliveries. Our insurance provider requires drivers to meet specific eligibility criteria, which includes being at least 25 years of age and proof of at least 3 years of a clean driving record.
Candidate Responsibilities:
Assist with Distribution Operations - Support day-to-day distribution activities across nine locations, including those outside Flagstaff, as needed.
Perform Physical Tasks - Execute physical duties, such as standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Maintain Fleet Cleanliness - Ensure general upkeep and cleanliness of the truck fleet, including the use of a pressure washer.
Clean and Maintain Distribution Equipment - Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of distribution tools and equipment such as propane heaters, fold out canopies, tables, etc. to ensure efficient operation.
Adhere to Policies and Objectives - Complete responsibilities in alignment with FFFC policies and established performance objectives.
Other Duties as Assigned - Take on additional tasks as directed to support operational needs.
Candidate Requirements:
Clean MVD record and valid Arizona driver’s license.
Excellent communication, customer service, organization, problem solving
Comfortable learning the operation of heavy equipment as needed including box trucks, forklifts, hand pallet jacks, and electric pallet jacks
Integrity, humility, punctuality, and reliability
Working schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday
