FACILITY INFORMATION



  • No. of Beds in Department: 47 total beds (33 NICU, 12 Special Care, 2 bassinets)

  • Trauma Level: Level I

  • EMR System: Epic

  • Office Equipment Available: Open Bay setting

  • Specialty Backup Available:

  • Support Staff Available: RNs, NNPs, PT, OT, Dieticians, Child Life Specialists


PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE



  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

  • Temporary Privileges Available:

  • Credentialing Timeline: 120+ days


REQUIRED PROCEDURES



  • PA catheter insertion

  • Umbilical Venous Catheterization (UVC)

  • Umbilical Artery Catheterization (UAC)

  • PICC placement - NNP’s do them the majority of the time, but the Neos and Fellows back them up for difficult lines.




JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Board: Board Certified in Neonatology (or truly Board Eligible)

  • Licenses: Active Full Michigan license

  • DEA:

  • Certifications: NRP (advanced provider or instructor), NALS (preferred)

  • Experience:

  • Other Qualifications: Fellowship in Neonatology


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections

  • Provide ventilation management including BiPAP/CPAP, oscillator, and Nitric Oxide

  • Perform neonatal procedures such as chest tube insertion, central line, arterial line, PA catheter, UVC, UAC, and PICC

  • Manage emergency situations and participate in neonatal resuscitation

  • Supervise Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) and document care using EPIC EMR
