Neuro/Diag Technologist - Neurophysiology - Days - PRN

Performs limited neurodiagnostic studies.

• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome.
  
  
  
  • Assesses patient as appropriate for procedure.
  
  
  • Performs all neurodiagnostic studies under supervision according to policy and procedure, and as directed by interpreting physician.
  
  
  • Monitors patients during and after procedures
  
  
  • Evaluates results of procedures and patient response, and takes action accordingly.
  
  
  • Provides safety measures for patients undergoing procedures
  
  


• Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division.
  
  
  
  • Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  
  
  • Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions.
  
  
  • Participates in CQI activities. Performs special quality control duties as assigned.
  
  


• Communicates patient/family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider.
  
  
  
  • Reports variances or significant events/results to appropriate caregiver.
  
  
  • Corroborates patients' clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
  
  

Education:

• High School or GED

• Two years of college coursework in a healthcare field

Experience:

• 3

• As a MST, nursing assistant or similar clinical experience


• Performing neurodiagnostic studies such as various EEG's or nerve conduction studies
