Shift Schedule: 24 -hour on -call shifts (including 24 hours gratis) for 1 weekend per month (Fri 7a – Mon 7a)

On -Call Shift Schedule: Weekend call coverage, Fri 7a – Mon 7a

Call Type: Beeper

Call Ratio: 1:5

Call Response Time: 30 minutes

Reason for Coverage: Vacancy - Medical Leave

Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency

SPECIFIC SHIFTS TO FILL

1 weekend per month: Fri 7a – Mon 7a

PATIENT INFORMATION

Average Daily Volume: 20 patients/day

Admissions: 1 -2

Rounding: Assigned Patients

Phone Consults: 6 -18

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Required:
- General Neurosurgery
- Adult
- Trauma
- Tumors
- VP shunt
- Spinal surgery with instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
- Spinal surgery w/o instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
- Placement of ICP monitors
- Application of ext. traction

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: Board Certified required

Licenses: MO license or Universal License (IMLC)

Certifications: BLS

Fellowship: Preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide 24 -hour on -call coverage (including 24 hours gratis) for assigned weekends.

Perform hospital rounding for assigned patients.

Serve as first assistant in neurosurgical procedures.

Conduct follow -up patient visits in clinic.

Evaluate a small percentage of new patients during clinic.
