  • Call Response Time: 30 minutes

  • Reason for Coverage: Vacancy - Medical Leave

  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency


SPECIFIC SHIFTS TO FILL



  • 1 weekend per month: Fri 7a – Mon 7a


PATIENT INFORMATION



  • Average Daily Volume: 20 patients/day

  • Admissions: 1 -2

  • Rounding: Assigned Patients

  • Phone Consults: 6 -18

  • EMR System: Epic

  • Support Staff: PA/NPs: 1


PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE



  • Hospital Privileges Required: No

  • Temporary Privileges Available: No


REQUIRED PROCEDURES



  • Required:

    • General Neurosurgery

    • Adult

    • Trauma

    • Tumors

    • VP shunt

    • Spinal surgery with instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)

    • Spinal surgery w/o instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)

    • Placement of ICP monitors

    • Application of ext. traction






JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Board: Board Certified required

  • Licenses: MO license or Universal License (IMLC)

  • Certifications: BLS

  • Fellowship: Preferred


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Provide 24 -hour on -call coverage (including 24 hours gratis) for assigned weekends.

  • Perform hospital rounding for assigned patients.

  • Serve as first assistant in neurosurgical procedures.

  • Conduct follow -up patient visits in clinic.

  • Evaluate a small percentage of new patients during clinic.
