Job Description - New Hiring Opportunity for CT Technologist in Lewes , DE
Position Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: 10-Hour Day Shifts
Pay Range: $35.85–$55.57 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform computed tomography examinations while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with established radiology protocols. The ideal candidate will have previous CT and radiography experience and demonstrate strong knowledge of imaging techniques, anatomy, radiation safety, and patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform CT examinations according to established protocols and departmental standards.
Operate CT and radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
Obtain high-quality diagnostic images using appropriate positioning, scanning techniques, and protocols.
Verify patient identification and examination orders prior to procedures.
Review patient history and relevant clinical information to ensure appropriate examination performance.
Explain procedures to patients and answer questions to promote comfort and cooperation.
Apply appropriate radiation safety practices and maintain exposure within ALARA standards.
Recognize and respond appropriately to patient emergencies and changes in patient condition.
Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat or modify imaging when necessary.
Maintain accurate patient and examination documentation.
Follow infection control, patient safety, and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform routine equipment checks and report equipment problems to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain required competency and participate in continuing education and department training.
Demonstrate competency in AED use and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of CT/Computed Tomography experience required.
Minimum of 1 year of radiography experience.
Two or more years of radiography experience preferred.
One or more years of CT experience preferred/required.
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent program.
Strong knowledge of radiographic and CT procedures, anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety.
Excellent patient-care and communication skills.
Required Credentials
ARRT(R) – Registered Radiologic Technologist
ARRT(CT) – Computed Tomography Certification
BLS – Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
Associate Degree in a related field
Current competency in AED/emergency response procedures
Education
Associate Degree in a related field.
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
