Binding Production Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking motivated and entrepreneurial professionals to join a team as Binding Production Underwriters specializing in either Commercial Lines or Personal Lines. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and expand a book of business by underwriting new accounts and fostering strong client relationships to drive renewal business.

Compensation Package

• Competitive salary range: $100,000 - $200,000 annually


• Performance-based bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow a profitable book of business.


• Develop and manage strong relationships with agency partners, serving as the primary client contact.


• Create and implement strategic marketing plans to drive new and renewal business.


• Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts, including large or complex risks.


• Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities and management as needed.


• Monitor key performance metrics, including new business hit rates, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios, and take corrective actions as necessary.


• Lead, mentor, and develop Assistant and Associate Underwriters to build a high-performing team.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience; excess & surplus experience is preferred.


• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing strategies.


• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.


• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.


• Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations are preferred.
