Control Room Operator / Plant Operator / Power Plant Operator

Maryland

$45 - $50 an hour

A Control Room Operator is required for a full-time power generation operations role in Maryland. This position is suited to an experienced CRO, Plant Operator or Power Plant Operator with control room experience in combined cycle, coal, trash-to-energy, biomass or a Navy propulsion operating environment.

The Control Room Operator will monitor and operate combustion turbines, auxiliary equipment and control room systems while following plant procedures, safety policies and environmental requirements. The role includes troubleshooting, data recording, emergency response, operator training support and shift maintenance coordination.

The Control Room Operator / Plant Operator / Power Plant Operator Role:

• Operate and monitor combustion turbines, auxiliary equipment and control room systems safely and efficiently.


• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support emergency procedures when required.


• Record, review and analyze readings from meters, gauges and monitoring systems.


• Communicate plant conditions clearly through verbal updates and written records.


• Use control systems and computer-based platforms including Siemens T3000 and Ovation.


• Train operators and help ensure shift maintenance tasks are completed.


• Work rotating shifts and respond to 24/7 callouts when needed.


• Carry out physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing and squatting.

Control Room Operator / Plant Operator / Power Plant Operator Requirements:

• Experience as a Control Room Operator, CRO, Plant Operator, Power Plant Operator or similar operations role.


• 3+ years of operating experience in combined cycle, coal, trash-to-energy, biomass or Navy propulsion environments.


• Experience operating aeroderivative combustion turbines is highly advantageous.


• Experience with Siemens T3000, Ovation or similar control systems.


• Engineering background through college or military training.


• Strong technical, organizational and leadership skills.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and email.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with willingness to travel occasionally for company business.
