Recruiting Specialist

Location: Warwick, RI | Full-Time | Onsite

The Hire is seeking a Recruiting & Benefits Specialist for an established employer in the Kent County area. This is a well-rounded Human Resources opportunity combining full-cycle recruiting with benefits administration and employee support.

The position supports employees and hiring needs across multiple locations and is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys variety and wants ownership of two important areas of the HR function. The underlying position specifically requires hands-on experience across both talent acquisition and benefits rather than specialization in only one discipline.

Recruiting Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly, salaried and skilled-trades positions


• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies


• Source candidates through job boards, referrals, workforce organizations and community partnerships


• Review applications and conduct phone and video interviews


• Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and leadership


• Manage candidate activity within the organization’s applicant tracking system


• Extend and coordinate employment offers


• Coordinate background checks, employment eligibility documentation and other pre-employment requirements


• Build relationships with staffing partners, schools and workforce organizations


• Track recruiting activity and key talent-acquisition metrics


• Assist leadership with workforce planning and anticipated hiring needs

Benefits & HR Responsibilities

• Support administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability and retirement benefits


• Coordinate new-hire enrollments, employee changes and qualifying life events


• Assist with annual open enrollment and employee communications


• Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions


• Work with insurance carriers, brokers and internal partners to resolve benefits issues


• Reconcile benefits invoices and assist with vendor administration


• Support leave administration, including FMLA and applicable state leave programs


• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records


• Assist with benefits renewals, compliance requirements and HR projects


• Provide HR support to employees and leadership across multiple locations

Benefits responsibilities in the client description include open enrollment, enrollments and life-event changes, carrier/broker coordination, invoice reconciliation, leave administration and benefits compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience


• Hands-on experience with both recruiting and benefits administration


• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered


• Multi-site or multi-state HR experience strongly preferred


• Manufacturing, distribution or industrial experience is a plus


• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS/ATS platform


• Working knowledge of federal employment laws and HR compliance


• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


• High degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality


• PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS or similar certification is a plus
