Job Description
PHYSICAL SECURITY MANAGER
Mather, California | On-site | 20–25% Travel
Own and shape the physical security function for a growing ITAD and electronics recycling operation.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on role for a security professional who can take ownership of physical security across facilities, strengthen compliance, and ensure people, assets and secure chain-of-custody processes are protected.
You’ll act as the Physical Security SME, owning the programme across the organisation and working closely with Operations, IT, HR and Compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own physical security across facilities, including CCTV, access control, alarms, visitor management and secure zones.
- Lead NAID AAA, R2v3 and related audit readiness, including customer/third-party audits, surveillance audits and corrective actions.
- Conduct site assessments, identify security gaps and implement improvements across a multi-site environment.
- Manage physical security incidents, investigations, access permissions and chain-of-custody controls.
- Develop and deliver employee security training and awareness programmes.
- Maintain security policies, procedures and documentation to withstand external audit scrutiny.
- Manage security vendors, equipment maintenance and system upgrades.
- Travel approximately 20–25% to conduct site assessments, audits, training and incident-response support.
This is an opportunity to build and influence a physical security programme, rather than simply maintain an existing operation.
You’ll have direct visibility with leadership and the opportunity to make a tangible impact across security, compliance and operational standards within a business contributing to a more sustainable technology lifecycle.
We’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ progressive experience in physical security, security operations, loss prevention or a related field.
- Strong experience managing CCTV, access control, alarms and security vendors/integrators.
- Proven experience with audits, compliance, policies and corrective actions.
- Experience with NAID AAA and/or R2v3 strongly preferred.
- ITAD, electronics recycling, data destruction, logistics or similar industry experience highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of chain of custody and secure material handling.
- Experience developing and delivering security training.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 20–25% travel flexibility.
- PSP, CPP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Location: Mather, California
Working environment: Primarily on-site, with regular presence across warehouse/operational areas.
