Job Description - New Patient Coordinator

Job Overview: We are seeking a proactive and
patient -focused New Patient Coordinator to join our Interventional Spine and
Joint Clinic. As the first point of contact for new patients, you will play a
crucial role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience from initial
inquiry to the first appointment. The ideal candidate should possess excellent
communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering
exceptional patient care.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Intake and
    Scheduling:

    • Respond to inquiries from new
      patients via phone, email, or in person.

    • Collect and verify patient
      information, insurance details, and medical history.

    • Schedule initial consultations,
      diagnostic tests, and follow -up appointments.

  1. Insurance Verification:
    • Verify insurance coverage and
      obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.

    • Communicate with insurance
      providers to clarify coverage details and address any issues.

  1. Patient Education:
    • Provide information about the
      clinic's services, procedures, and pre -appointment instructions to new
      patients.

    • Address patient questions and
      concerns, ensuring a clear understanding of the treatment process.

  1. Collaboration with Medical
    Staff:

    • Coordinate with physicians,
      nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient
      onboarding.

    • Relay pertinent patient
      information to the clinical team to facilitate optimal care.

  1. Administrative Support:
    • Maintain accurate and up -to -date
      patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

    • Assist in the completion of
      required paperwork and documentation for new patients.

  1. Patient Advocacy:
    • Advocate for patients by
      assisting them with navigating the healthcare system.

    • Ensure a patient -friendly
      experience and address any concerns or issues promptly.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or
    equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.

  • Proven experience in a healthcare
    setting, preferably in a patient coordination or similar role.

  • Familiarity with medical
    terminology, insurance processes, and healthcare regulations.

  • Exceptional communication and
    interpersonal skills.

  • Detail -oriented with strong
    organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Proficient in using electronic
    health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.

Working Conditions: This position involves working in a clinic setting,
collaborating with medical staff, and interacting with patients on a daily
basis. The New Patient Coordinator may be required to work standard office
hours, and occasional evenings or weekends based on clinic needs.
