  • Writing, Editing & Multiplatform Content —Produce, write, edit, and adapt accurate, clear, and impartial content for broadcast and digital platforms.

  • Enterprise Journalism & Collaboration —Use reporting, research, data, and resources from Hearst teams and partners to strengthen coverage and local relevance.

  • Technology, AI & Workflow —Use newsroom and approved AI-enabled tools to improve workflow while independently verifying facts, sourcing, context, and final content.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience in a local television newsroom, Washington bureau, or comparable deadline-driven journalism environment.

  • Working knowledge of newscast production and the day-to-day needs of local newsrooms.

  • Ability to make sound editorial decisions and communicate clearly during breaking news and rapidly changing coverage.

  • Experience collaborating with reporters, photographers, producers, and other newsroom partners.

  • Strong writing, copy-editing, organizational, and multiplatform production skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines reliably in a fast-paced newsroom.

  • Political reporting or political coverage experience is helpful but not required.

  • Related military experience will be considered.
