Job Summary 



Aprio is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) Nonprofit Consulting practice. In this role, you will partner with experienced firm leaders and client organizations to deliver high-impact business advisory and interim outsourced accounting engagements that drive financial clarity and operational strength. You will bring strong critical thinking, financial expertise, and adaptability to diverse client environments across finance department transformation, audit facilitation, system implementation, and grants management. Key Responsibilities



  • Participate in financial assessments and process improvement engagements led by senior staff


  • Support system implementations and chart of accounts analysis and redesign



  • Perform financial and data analysis, including development and execution of complex reconciliations



  • Develop, execute, and/or oversee the month-end close process



  • Prepare periodic financial reporting for client senior management and/or Boards of Directors



  • Support and perform analysis related to annual budget and projection processes



  • Evaluate and document financial policies and procedures



  • Assist clients in preparing for annual financial statement audits and IRS Form 990 data collection



  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across finance department functions



  • Oversee and/or process components of payroll, accounts payable, and/or cash receipts



  • Support the development and implementation of Uniform Guidance policies and assist with indirect cost rate analysis



Candidate Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including demonstrated experience with GAAP for nonprofit organizations

  • CPA preferred

  • Uniform Guidance and Single Audit experience a plus

  • Ability to work autonomously on client assignments and field initial client questions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to professionals at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously with a focus on detail and accuracy

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of and interest in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, CRM, and ERP systems and related integrations

$80,000 - $131,800 a year
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
