Job Summary

Responsible for managing sourcing activities for Power Americas, within the assigned commodity. They work to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness with our supply base. They also ensure that the supply chain can meet production demands. 

Job Description

Responsibilities 

  • Develop strategy: Create and implement strategies for sourcing in Nidec Power-Leroy Somer NA.   
  • Manage suppliers: Find suppliers, manage agreements, and build relationships.   
  • Analyze data: Use data analytics to identify areas for improvement on the supply chain. 
  • Coordinate activities: Work with other teams to ensure supply chain capacity meets production needs.   
  • Negotiate: Negotiate commercial conditions with suppliers. 
  • Find solutions: Find creative solutions to problems that may impact the organization ensuring cost-effectiveness. 
  • Influence others: Influence peers and suppliers to adopt a different point of view, driving supply chain improvements.  

Qualifications/Requirements  

  • Experience as commodity SQE / SQA / buyer / tactical buyer / category buyer. (2-3 years). 
  • Strong knowledge of the key aspects of the RFI / RFQ sourcing process.  
  • Supplier development experience. 
  • Ability to understand value stream, cost drivers and how to break down cost structures.  
  • Results driven, self – starter, problem solver with proven ability to drive projects to a successful conclusion. 
  • Team oriented and excellent communications skills are essential. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office.
