The Pain Management APP will play a critical role in both inpatient and outpatient pain management services, performing consultations, procedures, and long-term care management for patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. The APP will also serve on key institutional committees related to pain management and opioid stewardship.\n\n \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nInpatient Responsibilities:\n\n * Conduct pain management inpatient consults for patients with acute and chronic pain.\n * Perform regional pain blocks under supervision or per protocol.\n * Manage of intrathecal pain pumps in emergent settings.\n * Provide multimodal pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs.\n * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, neurosurgery, orthopedics, oncology, palliative care, and other services) to optimize pain control and decrease length of stay.\n * Educate patients and families on pain management strategies and treatment plans with the goal of improving patient satisfaction\n * Assist with opioid conversion and weaning protocols for inpatients as needed.\n\n\n\nOutpatient Responsibilities:\n\n * Independently evaluate and manage patients in the pain clinic.\n * Perform outpatient procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and nerve blocks.\n * Facilitate outpatient referrals for new pain management patients.\n * Conduct follow-up visits for discharged patients and ongoing pain management patients.\n * Assist the attending physician with new patient evaluations, procedure planning, and clinic workflow.\n * Coordinate medication management, including opioid and non-opioid pain regimens.\n\n\n\n \n\nQualifications:\n\n\\- Applicants must hold a Master\u2019s degree from an accredited NP / PA program.\n\n\\- Pain Management experience preferred; new graduates with strong interest in pain medicine considered. \n\n\\- Strong neurological assessment skills and comfort managing both acute and chronic neurological conditions.\n\n\\- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.\n\n\\- Applicant must be a certified CNS / NP / PA. Current State of Ohio licensure is required and should be maintained at all times.\n\n\\- Certificate to Prescribe must be current and maintained at all times. DEA license must be current and maintained at all times.\n\n\\- A thorough understanding of HIPAA law is required and professional discretion must be demonstrated at all times.\n\n\\- Applicant must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent communication skills with both patients and colleagues are essential.\n\n\\- Computer literacy is required and must include Excel, Word and Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records experience is an advantage, preferably EPIC.\n
