Nurse Manager (Emergency & Acute Care)

Description

Summary/Objective

Responsibilities include supporting the Emergency Department (ED) or Acute Care unit manager by overseeing daily operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with hospital policies, and actively participating in staff training and development, all while working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment; essentially acting as the second-in-command for the ED/Acute Care unit.  

Essential Functions

Monitoring patient care delivery to ensure high standards of nursing practice are met.

Assessing patient acuity, assigning tasks to nursing staff, and managing complex cases.

Providing direct patient care as needed, particularly during high-volume or critical situations.

Review and maintain policies and procedures.

Participates in team meetings and/or committees and special projects.

Professional, courteous, and responsive to patients, co-workers, and superiors.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

Current Registered Nurse license with the ability to practice in the state of California.

1-3 years minimum experience in Emergency nursing and/or Acute Care nursing.

Strong leadership and supervisory skilled with the ability to manage a team.
